Pink Diamond PR hosted its very first shopping party and runway show a couple of weeks ago. The event was held at Arden B in Columbus, Ohio. Select women in the area were personally invited to the private shopping event which included desserts, sparkling beverages, gift bags, discounts, image consultations and more. The runway show provided a preview of the summer and fall collection at Arden B and all who attended received a 15% discount off their entire purchase. They were also able to buy one item and receive the second item for fifteen dollars. Arden B's personal photographer was there to take photos that will be added to the Arden B website and Facebook page. Journey to Wholeness & the Women of Travelers Rest Baptist Church present: Celebrating Go Red and Women's Health "Becoming a Better You."

Heart attack survivors and Ohio area women come together to promote heart healthy awareness and celebrate women’s health.

Columbus, Ohio (March 20, 2010) – Journey to Wholeness and The Women’s Ministry of Travelers Rest Baptist Church share a deep concern for the increasing number of women suffering and dying from heart disease. In an effort to increase heart healthy awareness to the women in the local community they are hosting the “Celebration for Go Red & Women’s Health – Becoming a Better You” on Saturday, April 24th from 9:30 am – 2:00 pm at Travelers Rest Baptist Church, 1533 Cleveland Avenue, Columbus, Ohio, 43211. This event is in recognition of Heart Disease Awareness Month in February and ties into Wear Red Day, which is a national initiative to raise awareness of the importance of heart health in women. Professional staff will be on hand to provide screenings, health assessments and fun activities that promote good health. It will also empower women with the knowledge and tools they need to take a positive action to reduce their risks of heart disease and protect their health. By realizing your heart risks early, you can work with your physician to reduce the chances of getting heart disease.

Dr. Quinn Capers, MD., a well respected cardiologist from the Davis Heart and Lung Research Institute at The Ohio State University will provide a frank but informal presentation on “Women & Heart Disease”. He will address key points such as women’s risk level of heart disease, how stress and diet affects women’s health, how to talk to your doctor, and how to lower your personal risk for heart disease.

Pamela Conn, a certified Zumba fitness instructor from Urban Active Fitness will get the crowd pumped up by showing quick, fun exercises that they can do to get their heart rate up.

"A healthy lifestyle can reduce your risk for cardiovascular disease," said Linda Evans, Founder of Journey to Wholeness. “It is only recently that women have become aware that they need to be more proactive about their heart health. Women need to take charge of their heart health, and make the right choices that relate to proper nutrition, physical activity, doctors' visits and their general health, which are essential for a longer life." Our program’s intention is to provide the most up-to-date heart information so women will continue to make healthy choices throughout their lives.

In honor of the event, Michelle M. Mills, MSSA, LSW, President/CEO of St. Stephens Community Center (1500 East 17th Avenue, Columbus, OH 43219) is being presented with the Journey to Wholeness and the Rest Women’s Ministry - Woman of Worth Award. The award is being presented to Ms. Mills for the leadership and impact of St. Stephens within the Linden Community. Her leadership has provided numerous programs for the youth, adults and elderly making significant lifestyle changes. She is a national and local speaker, giving workshops and presentations to various organizations and her extensive social services career has earned her numerous awards and recognitions such as the Who’s Who Black Columbus Influential Community Leader 2006 - 2008 and the coveted Marian and Walter English scholarship award for professional development, the 2007 Empowered Woman Award Columbus, Ohio, and Business First Central Ohio “40 Under 40” emerging leaders, among many others.

Head to toe makeover instills more than new look for YWCA Family Center resident

Columbus, Ohio - January 24, 2010 – They say that clothes don’t make the man, but with the troubled economy and so many people looking for work, it is important for those who are looking for a job to have a refined image. Unfortunately, for those who are struggling and have been out of work for a long time, buying new clothes or getting a fresh new hairdo isn’t an option. On a recent Sunday afternoon, a local fashion boutique and six volunteers in the community decided to give a makeover to one lucky resident of the YWCA Family Center, in an effort to help polish their image for job interviews and to boost their self esteem.

Candy Chenault, a 24 year old single mother of three and a resident of the YWCA Family Center was thrilled to hear the news that she was getting a makeover. She has been looking for a job for over a year. Like many others, her finances don’t allow her to purchase new clothing or pay for professional hair styling. She believes that her image, in addition to the slow economy have kept her from getting a new job. “I am so thankful to all who participated in the New Year, New You makeover day” Candy says with tears of joy. “Not only am I excited about all the new clothes and services that I received, I feel more confident about myself and that will help me feel more secure with future job interviews.”

The New Year, New You makeover day was the brainchild of Apryl Cook-Richmond, makeup artist with Makeup By Apryl. Cook-Richmond who is passionate about giving back to the community, decided to host this event to help promote personal growth, increase self-esteem, and build the confidence necessary to succeed. The women who are nominated for the New Year, New You makeover day have had their opportunities for growth limited by a variety of issues from abuse, poverty, or natural disasters.

Those who generously volunteered their time and services for the New Year, New You makeover day included: Adrienne Ruff, co-owner of Step N Out Boutique, Apryl Cook-Richmond, makeup artist with Makeup By Apryl, Aleisia the Hair Diva, hairstylist with Backstage Hair Designs, Christina Holmes and Kristin Robinson, fashion stylists with ChristinaKristin Co, Ramon Waugh, editor and media director of BrickWaugh Productions and Carlita Pitts, public relations and marketing consultant with Pink Diamond Public Relations.

Matthew Williamson Collection premiere's at H&M tomorrow!

The big day has almost arrived. Tomorrow, the most anticipated summer collection at H&M will premiere in stores across the globe.

Matthew Williamson is known for his colorful prints and graphics. He never fails to bring the joy of spring time to womens wear. On April 23, we'll be able to view the collection for ourselves in 200 stores worldwide. In the summer, he will bring this same joy to his first ever menswear line and another line of womens wear, which is set to debut May 14. Just in case some of you have not heard of Matthew Williamson, he designed Kelis's wedding dress.
Williamson's collection is covered in peacock feathers, studs and colorful, graphic prints. It seems like many of the pieces are made from satin fabric.

I love colorful pieces, especially in the spring & summer. I cannot wait to go to H&M tomorrow to see what all the rave is about.

I am sooo happy that it is now March 2nd Spring is near!! Only 19 days until Spring officially arrives. I couldn't be happier. So of course thatmeans it's time for more shopping for clothes, shoes, accessories and of course beauty products. If you are anything like me, the winter season can wreak havoc on your skin. What can you to bring that beautiful glowing skin back?

I found an article in the Northwest Herald newspaper (http://www.nwherald.com/) that gives some good tips on how to bring that glow back.

Spring makeup brings out the rosy glow that winter takes away.
The beach is months away and your face is showing the distance.
Pasty, dry winter skin cries out for a glow and achieving the luminous bloom of spring is possible with expert tips and the right products.

Go for the glow

Kimara Ahnert, of the Kimara Ahnert Makeup Studio in New York City, says to begin the glow regimen with a skincare masque to hydrate dull, dehydrated winter skin.
“It stimulates the skin, bringing a natural, healthy glow that will enhance the look of any makeup product,” she says.
Richard Class, makeup artist at bluemercury in Lincoln Park, favors tinted moisturizer as foundation and suggests going a shade darker than your natural complexion to add warmth.

Bronzer is essential

Cover Girl celebrity makeup artist Molly R. Stern suggests applying a light dusting of bronzer where the sun would naturally hit the face – cheek bones, bridge of nose, forehead and chin.

Stay away from terracotta orange bronzers of the past and opt for more natural brown tones.

Ahnert also likes illuminators in cream or powder form that add glow to the skin on tops of cheekbones and on the forehead.

Don’t be obvious

Class favors the look of rosy pink blush worn under bronzer.
“It gives the illusion of a burn,” he says, mimicking an afternoon spent in the sun. His vision for spring calls for flawless, porcelain skin and a glowy, almost doll-like look. He says the obvious makeup look is gone: Think Reese Witherspoon, not Dita Von Teese.

Eyes should shimmer

Eyes for spring are awash in light, luminescent finishes, not heavy liner and dark shadows. Ahnert suggests neutral shades like copper, gold or champagne lit with sparkle to flatter all skin tones and ages. Adding a touch of shine to the eyes’ inner corners via an almost-white, shimmery powder or cream will make them pop, she says. Class also favors a bare-eyed look, with minimal shadow and a coat of mascara, to allow glowing skin to take center stage.

Brush your lips
Let your toothbrush get lips started for spring. A gentle brush exfoliates dry lips and gives a plumping effect, Ahnert says.
She likes glossy lips but opts for a lipstick formula: “The color is richer, smoother and lasts longer.”
A bit of neutral shimmery eye shadow drawn very subtly over the top lip can accentuate the shape, she says. Using a pearly gloss dabbed just in the center of the lip makes them look fuller, too.

Spring’s flush of colors
Glowing, soft and feminine are all buzzwords for the face of spring 2009.

I apologize to all for SERIOUSLY lacking posts... but you know how the Holiday season is... every minute is filled with parties, reunions, meetings, shopping, eating blah, blah, blah. Although this is my favorite time of year it seems that it's hard to have a minute to myself.

Once again, MAC Cosmetics has released my favorite holiday line of makeup. We all know that red is the traditional color for the holiday season - so Passions of Red - is the perfect line to add to your collection this season. Not only is red super sexy and uber glamorous - it makes your teeth look white without visiting the dentist.

The trick to having luscious red lips is knowing how to pick the right shade. I have compiled some tips to help you out:

First things first. You need to figure out what tone range you fall into. Are you a cool blue red or a warm orange red? To figure this out, just look in the mirror at your complexion.

Step 2: If you’re fair, then you would benefit from colors in the cool blue red range, which helps brightened up skin and balances out tonality, while creating a “depth of lip,” with the rich, deep red that will be beautiful against fair skin. Colors in the warm orange red range would be too glaringly bright for fairer complexions.

Step 3: For medium to darker skin tones, a red from the orange red family will work best on this skin color. Orange-based reds are punchier and are for people who can handle attention--because of the intensity of the color. Warmer/darker complexions have an innate brightness to their skin. An orange red lipstick would create more light and depth to darker skin, which helps balances out its own tonality. If a dark complexion were to wear a blue red color, it would be too cool in tone and sallow out the skin.

Step 4: Once you figure out which color range you fall into (cool or warm), then it’s time to play and experiment with different hues of red. Since red is such a strong pigment, you just need to dab a little on your finger and apply it to the lip.

Step 5: Lightly blot your lips to remove excess color. This will ensure that you see the true color on your lips.

Step 6: You can apply strips of color onto your hand to compare all the different shades, but it won’t be as accurate on the skin of your hands as it would be if you apply it directly to your lips.

Step 7: After you have sampled one red on your lips, remove it with some makeup remover poured onto a tissue and rub it off or simply use a disposable makeup remover cloth.

Step 8: Repeat the above steps in trying out another red and wiping it fully off before you start again with yet another shade of red.

Step 9: Continue playing around with the different shades until you find one that perfectly suits your face and complexion.

Angels descended on Wall Street Wednesday night as luminaries like Star Jones, Ashanti and Ivana Trump came out to support the Gabrielle's Angel Foundation for Cancer Research with a gala celebration.

Songwriter Denise Rich, along with her daughters Daniella Rich Kilstock and Ilona Rich Schachter, hosted The 2008 "Gabrielle's Gala," which featured performances by Gladys Knight and Patti LaBelle.

Gabrielle's Angel Foundation for Cancer Research was founded by Denise in memory of her daughter Gabrielle, who lost her long and valiant struggle with acute myelogenous leukemia (AML) at the young age of 27. The Foundation's mission is to encourage the development of more effective therapies for patients with leukemia, lymphoma and related cancers, including alternative or complementary medicine.
Other celebrity guests invited to the gala event, which featured a silent and ongoing online auction, included The Duchess of York Sarah Ferguson and Alan Cumming.

One of my favorite blog sites : Brown Sista is reporting that Soul diva Mary J. Blige was on hand Monday night to help fashion designer Catherine Malandrino open her new concept boutique on Melrose Avenue. Mary acted as hostess for Malandrino who the singer first met some seven years ago when she presented her “Hallelujah” collection at the Apollo Theater in Harlem. Mary sang in the show and Catherine has even designed costumes for Mary’s various tours. The two women have kept up their close friendship over the years and when Malandrino decided to open The Catherine Melandrino Mansion, a boutique featuring an in house café, library, and accessories store, she called on none other than Mary to host the grand opening.

LIP : Clear lip gloss was used as a base. Passion shadow was applied over for a unique color.
For a subtle highlight apply Pink Passion lipglaze to center of the lip.

To achieve this look reminiscent of the soft sunsets and peaceful serenity of the tropics the following products were used:
FACE : Katrina is wearing Butternut shade
EYES : Line half of the eye with Carnival in the creases of eye and move outward toward brow bone. Use Sunset on the remaining half of the eye and blend outward
**Use a damp brush for a more dramatic look
CHEEKS : Glow blush was used in a very small amount. Tap off any excess and apply to the apples of the cheeks.
LIP : Line lips with Spice lipglaze using a lip brush. Carnival eyeshadow was used on top in the center of lips to create a highlight effect.

BODY : Glint body shimmer was used

I absolutely love some of the new items at Victoria's Secret this fall. Besides being the number 1 company for lingerie and beauty items, I always find myself with a long wish list full of clothing and shoes from VS.

Here are four of my favorite items:

Marino Wool Turtleneck Sweater -- I love those puffy sleeves with see through wool around the chest area. Flirty & Sexy. I absolutely LOVE it!

Silk Taffeta Ruffle top --This is a really fun top that can be worn under a nice suit at work to give an extra touch of trendiness and also to cocktail hour with the girls. I love blouses such as this one that can be worn for different purposes.

Silk Tiered Baby Doll top --Very sexy & fun piece. This is another piece that can be worn for multiple occasions. You can dress it up with a cute pencil shirt or even with some cute jeans.

Miss Sixty Ankle Strap Boots -- my favorite item on this list. First I love all the colors. The violet, gray and purple are perfect for the fall and the gold zipper detail gives an extra touch of class. These boots are super sexy and are a definite must have on my wish list. Moody Monday Rants, Raves & Reviews: Long Hair Care Forum

Arrggghh. How I dread Mondays. Especially when you wake up in the morning, get dressed, to try to look your best and your hair has an attitude of it's own. What is a girl to do?

This summer has been the worst summer for me in terms of hair. It's become very brittle, dry and thinner than normal. My hairdresser and I have been going back and forth for weeks trying to figure out what the problem is. We both know that I need to come up with a new regimen to help (1.) stimulate growth, (2.) build volume, (3.) reduce shedding and (4.) get my old texture back (yeah my texture changed dramatically and not for the better). That's the thing that sucks about ethnic hair sometimes - it's so "sensitive" for a lack of better words. Sometimes I think that I should start a blog to document the drama that I deal with everyday with my hair. I think about going natural sometimes, but after this past 8 week relaxer stretch -- I don't know if I have the patience to deal with that.

I did some research on hair products specifically for ethnic hair a few months back and bumped into a website called Long Hair Care Forum - http://www.longhaircareforum.com/. I purchased the products I needed to help achieve my hair goals, and the best thing was that I was able to make an informed decision about the products I bought based on reviews from people with hair like mine. What did I choose? (1.) Kera Care 1st Lather & Moisturizing Shampoo (2.) Kera Care Humecto Creme Conditioner (3.) I also need to find a good heat protectant and moisturizing creme/oil. -- Any suggestions? I also have been taking Country Maxi Life Vitamins which have really helped alot. I notice the difference already.

So my fellow fashion homie Razzi over at Stylerazzi.com gave me the scoop that acid wash jeans are going to be the new thing this year. I have to admit - I kept saying that I was not going to rock acid wash jeans again (just like leggings and stir up pants), but again, I may just change my mind. I really like how Rhianna rocked hers, especially with those silver pumps. Now I have all kinds of ideas racing in my head of how I can put something hot together.

This is too too cute! I've always told my friends that I wanted to have some baby high heel shoes when I finally have kids. I guess someone beat me to it.

The company that makes these adorable high heel shoes is called Heelarious. They are made for infants 0-6 months. They have a variety of styles and colors and they are just way too cute! They are a bit pricey at $35 - but hey I will make do! I will have to grab a couple of pairs for my nieces - Ariana, Kimora & the *unnamed* niece on the way! This is pure fabulousness!!!

I'll be the first to admit to my girl crush on Beyonce. I mean she's hot... really... smokin...
When I first saw these images from her photo shoot - I wasn't sure if I really liked them. Of course, just like anything that Beyonce does, they started to grow on me quickly. One of the things that I did notice was her striking resemble to Tyra in these photos. I don't mean she "looks like" Tyra - I just mean that her poses look like Tyra might have coached her. Not that that's a bad thing - I'm just sayin :)

Nevertheless, I do really, really like the purple dress that she's wearing that's really cute, and if I just happened to stop in Detroit for something - I might even wear that zebra coat. I know there is no way that I could get away with that in Columbus - without looking like I tried too hard.

Hey everyone! I apologize for my lack of posts lately. I've been super busy with work as usual - planning events, planning my class reunion, managing my professional quest for greatness(lol) and balancing life. I'm sure you all understand. It's just been crazy.

Now that my life has settled a for the time being, I finally have a bit of time to do some shopping. Now that fall is approaching - its time for a complete wardrobe change. Since I am trying to be focused on getting my financial life in order to buy a house within the next few years and maybe get married if the Mr. *cough* happens to propose ( believe me - I am not holding my breath on that one). So of course that means trying to do more reasonable shopping. I need to find more quality dual purpose clothing. Basically clothing that's transitional. I can wear it to work, to cocktail hour or a even to a night out with the girls. The cost of life is surpassing my budget (sadly shaking my head) so therefore I have to make some changes.
In order to accomplish this task, I decided to compile a list of 5 items every chick should have this fall. These are pieces that you can change up in order to achieve multiple looks.

1. Scarf - Scarves are a definite this season. They are so versatile yet stylish. You can wear them in many ways - you can tie it one knot and make it look like a masculine tie, you can tie it to the side to have a flirty yet professional look, you can use it as a wrap around a simple blouse or wrap it around your skirt or pants as a belt. Scarves are so fun because they come in so many colors, sizes, textures and fabrics. They are also fairly cheap so that you can buy tons of them.

2. Knit Wrap - I absolutely LOVE knit wraps. I love them for so many different reasons. First of all - EVERYONE looks good in a knit wrap - short, tall, pear shaped, apple shaped, hourglass, it doesn't matter. You can wear them as a dress, you can wear it with jeans, skirts, whatever you want. They are so versatile and just like scarves they come in so many colors and you can purchase them everywhere. It is an essential item for the professional women out there. Especially those who want to portray a stylish, yet classic look.

4. Oversized Clutch Bag - I think that Clutch bags are so fun! You can mix and match them what many different pieces - you can carry them everywhere and the extra big ones can carry everything that you need - while still looking stylish. The best thing is you can get them from anywhere from Forever 21 to Coach to Old Navy to Prada. You can find a stylish one to fit every budget.

5. Sweater Dress - Now we all know Sweater Dresses are veterans to the fashion scene but yet they return year after year as a style favorite. A sweater dress is the ultimate piece you should have because they can be dressed up, down, anyway you like. You can wear them with tights, belts, scarves, leggings, anything and they will still look hot. Not to mention, they are so comfortable and sexy.

Never in a million years did I think that I would be reporting on style trends that promotes a presidential candidate. I don't think I've seen anything this big in political fashion since the infamous Sean John "Vote or Die" shirts from the last Presidential election. It's all for a good cause and I am happy to see more people expressing themselves. It is important that we all get out and vote and I think that this year we will have the biggest voter turn out than ever before.

I have to admit that I do "love" the Barack Obama shirts and not just because it's a trend - but because I do support Barack Obama. My closet is stashed with a couple of Barack shirts and I will continue to rock them with either leggings or jeans with some pumps.

Sigh. The end of summer is approaching really fast. I feel like I didn't even have a chance to really relax or take a vacation. Oh well. The good thing is fall is my favorite season of the year. When actresses hit it big, who can blame them if the first item on their agenda is a shopping spree: Think platinum card, Fred Segal, a wait-listed croc megabag. But Kerry Washington has a different vision for her world. In 2004, after her role as the long-suffering wife in Ray catapulted her into the limelight—leading to covetable roles in The Last King of Scotland, I Think I Love My Wife, and Fantastic Four (whose latest installment, Rise of the Silver Surfer, will be released this June)—she picked up the phone and called eco-stylist Danny Seo.

"She called the right person. Ever since founding the organization Earth 2000 at 12—when most kids his age were still obsessed with Nintendo—29-year-old Seo has become the go-to person for organic-lifestyle advice. "Whenever someone has a question about how to make their lives environmentally sound, I send them to Danny," Washington says.

"I'm the green version of a Scientologist," Seo quips.

He's dressed Eva Longoria and Rosario Dawson in green fashions by Ralph Lauren and Koi; thrown eco-parties for his pal Stella McCartney's stores; and decorated the homes and gardens of stars such as Kelly Rowan. His Simply Green book series (Collins) and weekly Sirius satellite radio show are primers for making over your life in a way that's both elegant and environmentally sound. "A decade ago, green design was pretty much an oxymoron," Seo explains.

"Today, it's a different game: Everything from furniture to candles is being made using sustainable materials in the most beautiful colors and scents and designs."Washington's home—a two-year work in progress—is a case in point. Her walls have been painted with Benjamin Moore eco-friendly colors, her television is an energy-efficient Sharp plasma, her furniture is made from organic and recycled materials—including a rocking chair crafted from factory-reject seat belts and an armchair covered with baby blue hemp linen—and even her blinds are sustainable bamboo.

Betsey Johnson celebrates 30 years in fashion

In true Betsey Johnson style, the designer toasted her 30th anniversary with a pink overload Thursday night at her SoHo store. Surrounded by friends and balloons, Betsey Johnson and her business partner Chantal Bacon blew out candles while enjoying a raucous rendition of "Happy Birthday." "We never thought of this!" the duo exclaimed in unison. "You work your ass off and you don't add it up!"

They weren't the only ones celebrating--Bee Shaffer stopped by before heading to her birthday dinner at Morandi. Meanwhile, guests nibbled on mini frozen treats--a welcome relief from the persistent heat--along with cotton candy and strawberry shortcake. Naturally, all were pink.
Thirty years in business is a serious milestone--but then again, so is a 30th birthday. So how did Johnson and Bacon celebrate theirs? "I can't talk about it!" cried Johnson. "I had a bad girl phase." Luckily, Bacon dished, recalling her party at the Mud Club, the same haunt where the pair launched the Betsey Johnson brand. "Betsey gave me a huge party there, and I blew out candles on a huge number 30 made of Twinkies!"

Looking forward to the upcoming Fashion Week, Johnson dished a little bit on her runway show. "Two grandchildren, another cartwheel and Betsey Betsey land!" she explained. "It's another little fantasy trip. We're resurrecting the vintage! It must be the eighties again--well, it feels like the eighties again."

Yeah right! Even if I had $10,000 to blow - it probably wouldn't be on a pair of jeans. Unless they washed themselves everyday, gave me a banging bootay and I could wear them forever!
I never could understand why people would spend that much money on a clothing item - how many times could you really wear it? I would think only once - maybe twice!

So, as I reported a couple weeks ago, it looks like this whole "skinny jeans inside of your ankle strap pump" look is really about to be the trend of the fall. While browsing over at YBF, I spotted this photo of singer Cassie. Like we saw with Kim K the other week, Cassie also has her pump strapped over-top of her skinny jean! I think the look is cute and unique.There are a few different ways you can experiment with this look. I think I may attempt to try the high-waist skinny jean with a simple white tee, colorful scarf tied neatly around my neck (like monica) and matching pumps with the strap around my skinny jean!!!! What better way to collaborate all of the fall trends I have recently posted into one fabulously flawless look!!!!! I may even take it one step further and wear the pump ankle strap over top of some stirrup leggings or jeans!!!!!!!!! *thinks to self*......Girl, you are so creative!!!!!! LOL!!!!! So everyone knows that my hunt for the latest fashion, beauty and accessories is relentless. The accessory that I love the most - well besides shoes (and handbags) is of course jewelry - especially rhinestones. Lately, I have been trying to find nice costume jewelry that blings and sets me apart from well, everyone else. Advice you'd give to other women!
Don't wear things that are uncomfortable for you simply because they are deemed as "in" by "fashion experts". I've made this mistake throughout my late teens and early twenties and every time I look back at those pictures I think, "what was I doing?" Strive for comfort, which may be 4 in. heels rather than flats for you! You define comfort! Also, don't get caught up in how much things cost. If something fits you well it doesn't have to be designer to warrant a place in your closet. On the other hand, if you like something and you can afford it, who cares if others think you are paying too much for it. I think a great American rapper once said something like, "You just do you, and I'ma do me!" That's pretty much how I feel!

I absolutely adore this Pink Frill Halter Neck Top from Dorothy Perkins - http://www.dorothyperkins.com/. I found it while I was flipping through Marie Claire Magazine and just fell in love.

The GIUSEPPE ZANOTTI Women's jeweled peep toe pump...Super hot! I am a big rhinestone fan so these shoes have my name written all over them!!! To bad the price tag is a bit too stiff for me.

I found this sexy little clutch bag on shopbop.com for $115. So cute. I love the color and the bow on the front. Especially with the gold accent and leopard print on the inside. Very chic!

The Boob Dilemna: How to create killer cleavage

Women who were born with cleavage know its an attention grabber It's sexy, a bit mysterious, and gives a confidence boost like little else can. Whether you show a subtle peek or a full display, cleavage holds a special sex appeal. Feeling like your friends are losing that natural perkiness? Never fear -- with the help of a few tricks, even the sleekest bodies can show off some curves. Here, are my favorites:

Bra Tricks
Try a Wonderbra. They don't call it a wonder for nothing: With its natural-looking padding and strategically placed underwire designed to lift and push breasts together, the Wonderbra (and its padded, push-up relatives) is an easy way to create the illusion of cleavage.
Give it a twist or cinch. Don't feel like springing for a brand-new bra? Tweak your current one. Try twisting the fabric between the cups of your bra before slipping into it; this extra twist pitches the cups toward each other, enhancing cleavage. Or slip a safety pin or flat ribbon around the straps in the back, pulling them close together (aim for an inch or two of space between them). Doing so pulls cups together in front, resulting in great cleavage.

If your top is backless or plunging then you need to get technical. Hollywood fashion tape, will hold boobs up and keep them inside your top, but involves masterful application to get it right.
The Nubra silicone enhancer, is a self-adhesive backless, strapless number that sticks to your chest (lasts for up to 120 washes).
If you crave the support of a proper’ bra try Wonderbra’s plunge bra with clear strap between cups or Dorothy Perkin’s multi-way and strapless bra.

Fashion Trick
Wear strategic tops. Shirts and dresses with tops that have shaping at the bust area do wonders for your bustline. Look for tops with a seam just under the breasts and shirring between them; both structures help lift and push breasts together. In evening wear, go for halter tops or gowns with bra-like styling at the bust for a similar effect.
Try a celebrity trick. Celeb stylist Mary Alice Stephenson swears by Bring It Up Instant Lifts (www.bringitup.com). Apply these clear adhesives to the top of your breasts, lift, and secure -- where you position them on your skin determines how much lift and cleavage you achieve.

If you really want to create a super busty look and show off your curves, try a bustier. I've heard great things about the bustier's at Fredericks of Hollywood.

Beauty Trick
Learn the power of bronzer. To really enhance your cleavage -- or to create some where there is very little -- break out the bronzer and fluffy brush. Sweep a line of bronzer between breasts to create a shadow (the shadow that naturally occurs when you have cleavage). Be sure to blend so bronzer is nearly unnoticeable.

Quite important when appearing on HD television unless you want your enlarged pores and spots to show up in all their high definition glory. Apparently, Estée Lauder & Lancôme are launching a new mascara that vibrates. Estée Lauder's new TurboLash All Effects Motion Mascara will provide you with the latest and greatest in lash length, curl and separation technology by vibrating at 125 micro pulses per second. The vibration of this battery-operated brush promises to separate lashes to avoid clumping. Turbolash will be available at Saks Fifth Avenue for $30.

Lancôme's version, Ôscillation, is due out in stores this Fall. The brush vibrates 7,000 times per minute, claiming to provide 360-degree coverage around each lash. It was created by Jean-Louis Guéret, who has developed almost 400 (!) mascaras in his lifetime. Lancôme is still working out an exact launch date and a price, so we'll all have to wait and see!!

Moody Mondays: Rants, Raves & Reviews

Last week I had one of the biggest beauty scares ever. I had a busy week - full of events, parties, blah, blah, blah. So of course I pulled out my favorite Dove Self Tanner to make sure that my skin had the beautiful summer glow. For the first few days my skin looked absolutely amazing. Then all of the sudden my skin began to itch uncontrollably - it was so bad, it felt like millions of bugs were crawling underneath my skin.

I couldn't figure out what the hell was going on. This wasn't the first time I used the tanner so I didn't think that could be the problem. I pulled out my blackberry and jumped on Google immediately to research the problem and there it was - my skin tanner was the culprit of my itchiness. I jumped in my car and ran to the nearest CVS to stock my closet with some skin repair items. I purchased some Yardley's soap (made with Natural Oats), St. Ives Brilliant glow scrub and some Aveeno lotion for dry, itchy skin. All of these products were amazing!!!! The St. Ives Scrub has a great smell and made my skin feel extra soft. I used the Yardley's soap to remove any residue that the scrub left behind - it smelled great also.

After I moisturized my skin, I began to wonder what I would use next to achieve the tan glow - without using any more self tanner. I don't know about you all - but a great tan is not worth scratching my damn skin off.
It's really hard to use makeup to cover up your body because you have to worry about rubbing it on your clothes, your car, and other people. So what can I do??? Then a light bulb came on - A couple of months back - I helped my sister get dressed for the prom and we picked up some Cover Girl TRU Blend Minerals Bronzer. My sister looked beautiful and had the tanned looked in an instant and she never complained about it rubbing off on anyone or anything.
I ran back to the store to pick up some TRU Blend and I selected the Natural Bronzer because I have a caramel skin tone. There are two types: Golden Sunrise & Natural Bronzer.

For my face - I mixed a sprinkle of bronzer with my moisturizer. That set the base tan for it. Then I powdered it lightly with the same bronzer. After that I highlighted my cheeks with FLIRT by Estee Lauder Bronzer(You can purchase this at Kohl's) or www.flirtcosmetics.com. My face looked amazing!! After that I mixed my body moisturizer (which is an aloe vera body butter) with bronzer and powdered my legs and arms lightly. I stood for about 15 minutes to let the powder sink in. VOILA - instant fake tan and it didn't rub off on my clothes, my car or any of the hundreds of people I hugged that night.

My only issue now is finding out how I am going to get all the bronzer powder out of my carpet!!!! YIKES!!!

So what's next on the style trend radar? The Bohemian style. Yes the Bohemian style ladies - it's not just for hippies anymore. I've been searching across the web and talking to some of my favorite fashion blogger friends and it looks the the "Boho" look is in. The celebs are adapting this look into their closets and so that means that the fashion innovators and trendsetters will be rockin it next.

Called Boho for short, the Bohemian look is earthy and layered, with loose, flowing fashions and accessories that are often made from natural materials like linen and gauzy cotton, wood, stones and leather. Woven items are popular and so are beads that are used in jewelry and to decorate purses, belts or anything else.

Tunics work over skirts or pants and can be loosely belted if you like. Vintage jewelry and fashions always have a place in a Bohemian ensemble.

Hey ladies!!! Y'all know what time it is!! Browsing the web for the sexiest, trendiest shoes is probably my favorite thing to write about.. well.. besides handbags... I am probably the BIGGEST accessory person ever. If I had to make a choice between accessories and clothes, I'd choose accessories in a heartbeat. Because as we all know that your accessories make the outfit!!

First up: The ASOS leather gladiator sandals.... yeah these babies are hot!!! I saw them on Sex and the City (of course) and fell in loooveeeee..... I almost jumped out of my chair when I seen them on one of my favorite shopping sites ASOS - http://www.asos.com/.

Next up: The Tatiana Peep Toe Pump by Betsey Johnson... I love these shoes because you can pair them up with hot jeans, a nice suit, or with a sexy dress to the club. I really liked this dress!!! I am still unsure of whether this is something that she should have worn. You can see the girdle through her dress.. Not that we all don't wear girdles -- but the point is for it NOT to be obvious.... Maybe if she would have worn some jewelry around her neck - it would have taken the attention away from the girdle... or maybe not??????? The dress is hot though!!!

I like Toccara's dress.. I think that boob is annoying me though........... I like this dress on Ashanti - but it's definitely not something that I'd rock. Just because I'm really not into the whole slit thing anymore.
I love all the yellow on these ladies... I really liked Keyshia's Cole's dress....

Over the past 6 months, I've been blessed with new babies coming into my life. All of my best friends are having or had children this year. Dress for Success: Fashion Tips for the Trendy Young Professional

Since summer temperatures have arrived, I've been having a difficult time trying to find clothes that say trendy & professional yet comfortable. In my line of business, I meet distinguished people on a daily basis and have to stay polished at all times. After work, I attend numerous cocktail parties and networking events so, I have to buy clothes that are transitional. Just like Tyrese says on the movie Baby Boy" You can wear it from work straight to happy hour". I found some great tips for us young professionals who have a difficult time trying to find that perfect balance between runway and business casual.

Here are the essentials:
* Wear a blazer with matching pants or a skirt (knee-level please, we don’t want to overemphasize our youth).

*Wear a colorful dress shirt: choose a colour that complements your skin tone and represents your personality. Not only white and black, but also red, blue, green, and even pink can look professional and will help you make an appearance. Just make sure your shirt matches your suit colour; you don’t want to look like a smudged canvas.

*Have fun with your hair: back-comb it a little to add volume, and use a simple headband. This will give you a very clean, youthful look, plus you get a chance to match it with your shirt. If you tie your hair up, backcomb your front and pin it up. Some tips say that you shouldn't wear it in a ponytail, I disagree. If your style is clean and sophisticated - go for it!! The key word here is sophisticated.

* The great thing about women in the business field is that we can dress in menswear, but still look pretty doing it. Make a statement, and wear a tie. Why not? It’s obviously professional; men have been doing it for as long as the tie has existed. Make it match your suit colour, or if you have a simple black suit with a white shirt, then add a little colour with your tie.

* Keep your jewelery to a minimum: you don’t want to distract your audience with too much bling. I know that big chandelier earrings and hoops are in, but, you really don't want to wear these to work. I know I learned the hard way!! LOL :)

* Don’t wear too much perfume: you don’t know this person well enough to make that kind of a statement. I had a boss who wore so much perfume that you could smell it all the way down the hall before she even comes in. Not a good look (well smell).

* Be very cautious with makeup. If you wear it, be sure to wear natural colors that emphasize your features, but, not to scream out I HAVE MAKEUP ON! If I were you, I'd visit your local makeup counter and ask for a natural makeover. You'd be amazed at how many natural looks you can play around with.

* Nails. Nails are very interesting. I heard from someone that professional women don't wear fake nails???? I don't know if that's true - but, I do know that as long as your nails are cleaned and manicured it's fine. You may want to steer away from loud colors too. It's your call. The same thing goes for toes.

* Oh yes, and the shoes: the best thing is to wear leather or suede ballerina flats, or low-heeled shoes. Make sure they’re clean and comfortable. You want to feel confident! Now, I've read a bit of old school dress for success style tips that say that you should always wear pantyhose or always wear closed toe shoes. I don't believe this to be the case. Especially in the summertime. Who wants to walk around in hot pantyhose all day?? Especially with open toed shoes? My boss's boss wears peep toe pumps all the time with knee length skirts and suits. She looks very business savvy and isn't breaking any "professional" rules. Not to mention she's a young professional as well.

Love 'em or not, Sarah Jessica Parker, Cynthia Nixon, Kristin Davis, and Kim Cattrall glittered in their metallic dresses on a pink carpet that was covered with more than 10,000 Swarovski crystals. SJP looked amazing in a very familiar dress (hello, LL in Bazaar superhero photo shoot). New theme song artist Fergie got girlie, while Jason Lewis acted goofy sticking his tongue out for the cameras.
